Can we take all our data out of Complipath?

In Complipath (complipath.io), you can download your workspace as one JSON file whenever you want, on any plan, even while billing is paused. It holds the tables of your workspace, and the file names three security tables it withholds. It is not everything: uploaded files come separately, and the rows of your connected tools are missing without a note.

Your workspace's tables as one JSON file, whenever you want it. Three security tables are left out and named in the file, the GitHub connection's row comes out empty without being named, and uploaded files are not in it.

What it does

One JSON file with a list of rows for each table of your workspace: systems, assessments, requirements, documentation, AI literacy records, the activity log, notes and settings among them.
A header carries the export date, a count of rows per table and a line on which law texts the classification rests on and which provisions it does not detect.
Any signed-in member can download it, and the file holds the rows that member may read. A workspace on a trial gets it too, with Trial in the file and its name.
It still downloads while billing is paused or closed, when the rest of the app is blocked.
Tables that are Complipath's own, not yours, are listed in the file as not included, each with its reason.

What it does not do

It withholds three tables on purpose and names them with their reasons: two-step recovery codes, the sign-in codes of a shared audit room and the sealed access to a connected company directory.
The rows of the tools you connected, such as GitHub, GitLab or a log system, come out empty without a note in the file.
Uploaded files are not in it, only the rows that describe them. Each system has its own ZIP with them, up to 50 MB in total, listing any that did not fit.

Every plan, including the free first system: the app checks no plan for it.

Where it sits in the law

It is not an EU AI Act duty. It is a product feature, and the file is a copy of your records, not proof that you have met a duty.
Article 18(1) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689: for a period ending 10 years after a high-risk AI system has been placed on the market or put into service, its provider keeps the technical documentation and the other listed documents at the disposal of the national competent authorities.
Article 18(3): a provider that is a financial institution subject to requirements regarding its internal governance, arrangements or processes under Union financial services law keeps the technical documentation as part of the documentation kept under the relevant Union financial services law.
If you are such a provider, a copy held outside any tool is worth having.

What is in the file, and what is not?

Every table of your workspace that your own access can read, as one JSON file: the register, assessments, requirements, documentation, literacy records, activity log, notes and settings. Not in it: uploaded files, three withheld security tables and the rows of your connected tools. The file names the withheld tables with their reasons.

Can we download it while billing is paused?

Yes. While billing is paused or closed you cannot change anything in the workspace, but this download still works, together with the register export and the per-system exports. A workspace on a trial downloads it too, and the file and its name are marked Trial.

Does the file include our uploaded files?

No. It holds the rows that describe each file, such as its name and the article it supports, not the file itself. Each system has its own ZIP that includes the evidence files up to 50 MB in total and lists any that did not fit.

Which plan includes it?

Every plan, including the free first system: the app checks no plan for it. Free holds one AI system, with no end date. Starter is €499 a month for up to 20 AI systems. Prices exclude VAT. Growth and Scale are not available yet, and nothing here waits for them.
