Who supervises the AI Act in Sweden?

Article 70(1) has each Member State establish or designate at least one notifying authority and at least one market surveillance authority. Sweden is carrying it out in two steps, and the first one has an end date.

What does Sweden decide, and what does it not?

What Complipath does

  • Risk classification Answers go through rules in code, never a language model, so the same answers always give the same result. Rules decide. AI only drafts. A person confirms.
  • AI inventory Every AI system you build or use, with its owner and risk class
  • Deadlines Each obligation carries the date it applies from, derived from where the provision sits rather than written onto the row
  • AI literacy (Article 4) Records who was trained on what and when, against the Article 4 duty to support AI literacy, which applies whatever your risk level
  • Obligations per system Confirming a classification creates the obligations that follow from it, each with an owner, a status and a place for evidence

Rules decide. AI only drafts. A person confirms.

What it does not do yet

  • Customer questionnaires (audit room) Coming soon Coming soon: answering a customer's AI questionnaire from your own register.
  • Domain-specific guidance Not supported Guidance written for one sector.

Questions

Is there a Swedish AI law?

Not on the sources we checked on 6 September 2026: no supplementary Swedish act was adopted, and SOU 2025:101 was still out for consultation. The AI Act does not wait for one. It is directly applicable, and Article 99(1) has each Member State lay down its own penalty rules within it.

Which Swedish authority do we answer to?

Market surveillance went to five existing regulators by a government decision of 15 June 2026 (Fi2026/01365), only until 31 December 2026: PTS, IMY, Finansinspektionen, Läkemedelsverket and Swedac. IMY’s own FAQ puts law enforcement and credit scoring in its area. Check what replaced the assignment after that date.
